South Midland Installations Ltd have been decommissioning petrol filling stations, as well as designing and building pumping systems for the automotive industry for the past 20 years. The systems meet with all current regulations for storing of inflammable products. We can:
Design and build for petroleum installations
Turn key packages
Bulk storage tanks
Above ground petrol storage tanks
Pumping stations
Pipe lines – single and double containment
Controls
Leak detection system
Line side dispensing equipment
Petrol and diesel dispensers with batch controls
Vapour recovery nozzle and coolant evacuation and fill adapter
Design and build for petroleum installations
Because we listen and work closely with our clients, our highly experienced
team will design, install, and maintain facilities for motor car production
plants, petrol forecourts, terminals and the chemical industries where
standards in safety and reliability are paramount.
Turn key packages
We offer full
turn key packages for the installation of above and below ground bulk
storage tanks incorporating stage one vapour recovery. Double containment
pipe lines with leak detection, pumping and batching equipment and
dumping facilities are fitted with fully programmable control systems. Highly
specified packages can also include line side dispensing for petrol
and diesel products, as well as methanol and biodisel.
Bulk storage tanks
Above and below ground tanks for bulk storage of all products including
petrol and diesel are environmentally sound and include all leak
detection systems. Vapour recovery facilities are incorporated and
the installation includes tank contents gauges, high and low level detection
alarms, and overfill devices.
Above ground petrol storage tanks
We can supply and install specially designed tanks for the storage
of petrol above ground. Alternatively, we can upgrade your current
storage facilities with FuelGuardTM. This
method of storage is obviously cheaper to install with no excavation
work and no more worries about ground contamination or suspected leakages.
All tanks can be completed with monitoring in the same way as our bulk
storage tanks, and they meet all safety requirements for primary/secondary
containment and overfill protection.
Pumping stations
To ensure continuous efficient delivery of products from bulk storage
to line side dispensing equipment, we can supply and install air
operated diaphragm pumps. These pumps meet all current legislation for
operating in flame-proof areas and are designed to be self-starting.
Pipe lines – single and double containment
We specialise in the supply and installation of double contained pipework,
particularly for petrol and methanols. The product-carrying lines
are of heavy-duty black carbon steel to API 5L dual certified and are welded
throughout. They can also be in Duropipe® or, in certain
case, stainless steel. Containment pipework is of medium-duty steel to BS 1387 and all lines are
leak-detected and capable of dumping all product back to bulk storage in
the event of an emergency.
Controls
We design, supply, and install all controls for tank content, high
and low level alarms, water detection, leak detection, overfill devices,
dump facilities, emergency stops, and stop and start. They are all
housed in one, purpose-built cabinet to fit with clients requirements.
Leak detection system
We have designed the leak detection system to meet – and surpass – all
health and safety requirements and is installed in numerous car production
plants.
Line side dispensing equipment
We supply and install specially designed
line side dispensing equipment to meet the customer’s requirements
for brake vacuum testing and filling, coolant mixing and filling, gear
box filling, engine oil filling, screen wash mixing and filling.
Petrol and diesel dispenser with batch control
We purposely designed petrol and diesel dispensers to be air operated
and complete with vapour recovery and bar
code reading facilities.
Vapour recovery nozzle and coolant evacuation and fill adapter
We supply this purposely designed stage two vapour recovery for use
in confined spaces. The nozzle is designed to meet the requirement of production
line petrol filling of motor vehicles giving line operators a safer, vapour-free
environment.
